The ability to add mandatory questions for supporters and mentees on the Vygo platform helps gather essential information before participants join your program. This feature enhances program management and facilitates better matching between mentors and mentees.

Implementing program join questions offers several benefits:

How to Set It Up / Use It (Clear Simple Instructions)

Follow these steps to add and use mandatory questions effectively:

  1. Access the Program Setup:

Log into the Vygo platform using your admin credentials.

Navigate to the section for creating or managing programs. (Program settings)

  1. Navigate to the tabs titled "Join questions"
  • Select ‘+ Add a question’ in the left column.
  1. Select Question Scope:
  • Select the audience you want to ask this specific question. For matching purposes, both members and supporters will need to answer the same question; however, you can tailor the wording to suit each audience.
  • Once you’ve finished adding the wording for your question, confirm the Answer Type. (Multiple Choice, Single Select, Short / Long Text Answer)
  1. Category Questions:
  • Define program segments with category questions, e.g: “Which subject area/s are you looking for help with?”
  • Users select answers via checkboxes, allowing multiple choices.
  • Upload a CSV file for bulk choices.

- Responses help allocate group sessions and generate data insights.

- ‘Mandatory’ is automatically selected under ‘Matching priority’ for these questions.

  1. Other Question Types:
  • Multiple Choice: Select one answer from a list.
  • Checkboxes: Select multiple options.
  • Short Text: Provide a short open-ended response.
  • Long Text: Provide a longer open-ended response.
  1. Upload a CSV file for multiple choices.
  2. Use as Quick Filter:
  • Toggle ‘Use as quick filter’ to allow members to sort supporters based on specific criteria.
  • Specify a quick filter name, e.g., “Subject area”, to display potential answers in the quick filter section of the ‘Browse Supporters’ page.
  • This helps members find supporters who meet their specific needs easily.
  1. Review and Manage Answers:
  • Program admins can view responses in the Member Management section.
  • Avoid editing membership questions once set, as changes will require all members to answer the new questions again.
