Understanding 'Insights' on a User Profile
User Insights provides a detailed view of an individual user’s activity, engagement, and profile information within Vygo.
Insights helps administrators and support staff better understand how users are engaging with the platform, identify support needs, and manage student engagement over time.
This feature replaces the previous 360 Profile experience within Vygo.
Accessing User Insights
To access User Insights:
- Navigate to the User Dashboard
- Search for or filter the required user
- Select the user from the dashboard
This will open the user’s Insights profile.
Access to User Insights depends on your role and permissions.
What Information is Available in User Insights?
User Insights provides a consolidated view of user information and engagement activity.
Depending on permissions, Insights may include:
- User details
- Public tags
- Private tags
- Engagement summaries
- Sessions and activity history
- Notes and support history
User Details
The User Details section displays key profile information for the selected user.
This may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Role
- Profile information collected during onboarding
Public and Private Tags
User Insights displays both Public Tags and Private Tags associated with the user.
Public Tags
Public Tags are visible across the platform and may be used for:
- Onboarding questions
- User matching
- Public profile visibility
Private Tags
Private Tags are internal-only tags used by administrators and support teams.
These may include:
- At-risk classifications
- Internal support categories
- Pilot group participation
- Retention workflows
Private Tags are not visible to students or other platform users.
Engagement Summaries
Insights includes an engagement summary showing the user’s overall activity within the platform.
This may include:
- Messages sent
- Connections made
- Sessions completed
- General participation activity
The engagement information displayed represents the user’s aggregated activity across the organisation.
Activity History
Administrators can review a user’s historical engagement and activity within Vygo.
This helps teams:
- Monitor participation
- Identify disengaged users
- Track support interactions
- Understand engagement trends over time
Notes and Support History
Some administrative roles can leave notes against user profiles within Insights.
This can assist with:
- Student support workflows
- Internal collaboration
- Retention management
- Follow-up tracking
Access to notes and editing permissions depends on role permissions.
Role-Based Access to User Insights
Visibility within User Insights depends on the user’s role.
Owners
Owners have full access to all User Insights functionality.
Support Admins
Support Admins can:
- View User Insights
- Access engagement data
- View tags
- Leave notes
Program Admins
Program Admins can:
- Access Insights for users within their assigned programs only
- View User Insights
- Access engagement data
- View tags
- Leave notes
They cannot access users outside their assigned programs.
Institution Staff Members
Institution Staff Members do not currently have access to User Insights or administrative engagement data.
