How to Use Vy Program Insights

Program Insights lets admins ask Vy questions about their program data in plain English and get real figures and charts back. This article covers who can use it, what you can ask, and how to export what Vy gives you.

Who can use Program Insights?

Program Insights is only available to admins, once an Owner has turned on AI Concierge Program Insights in Admin > Settings > Vygo AI. Students and supporters never see it.

Owners: can ask about every program in the organisation. For questions about onboarding answers, this includes users who have joined your organisation but are not in a program
Program Admins: can ask about the programs they are assigned to. Admins who are not assigned to any programs cannot use Program Insights

Because Owners and Program Admins see different groups of people, they can get different numbers for the same question. Both are correct for their own scope.

How to ask a question

Select Ask Vy at the bottom of the left menu
Select the Program Insights card
Type your question, for example "Which participants have not been active in the last 30 days?"
Vy replies with the figures and, where it helps, a chart

Some questions take Vy longer to work through. A reply can take up to three minutes.

What can I ask about?

Engagement and activity: active and inactive participants, new and returning members, activity trends
Sessions: bookings, completions, no-shows, cancellations, ratings and duration
Events: registrations, attendance, no-shows, cancellations, page views and feedback ratings
Messaging: how many messages were sent and chats viewed
Cohorts: comparisons based on your onboarding and join questions, for example international and domestic students
Supporters: supporter load and unused capacity

Program Insights uses the same definitions as your Insights dashboard, so standard metrics match. For less common questions, Vy works the answer out itself. If a number looks different from your dashboard, ask Vy which definition it used.

What Vy will not answer

Message content: Vy cannot read, summarise or analyse what people say in chats
Other organisations: you can compare programs within your organisation, but not against other partners
Data Vygo does not collect: for example graduation, retention or mobile and web usage
Programs outside your access: Program Admins cannot ask about programs they are not assigned to

Charts and exports

When Vy draws a chart, you can:

Switch to a table view of the figures
Download the chart as a PNG image
Download the data as a CSV file to use in Excel or your own reports

You can also ask for a particular chart type, for example "show this as a line chart".

Conversation history

Your Program Insights conversations are saved in your Vy history, so you can reopen and continue them. Only you can see your conversations.

Tips

Be specific about the time period, such as "this semester" or "since 1 July"
Name the program if you manage more than one
Ask a follow-up question to drill down, for example "break that down by program"
Use the CSV export if you want to rework the numbers yourself
